I watched the first episode of “Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance,” which started streaming on Netflix today. It’s a drama set on the European front during the One Year War from the first Gundam series. The story is told from the perspective of the Principality of Zeon, so the Gundam appears as the “White Devil.” The show uses 3D CG created with the “Unreal Engine 5” game engine, but I never thought I’d see the day when we could watch a Gundam show that looks almost like live-action! I’m glad I lived to see this.
本日からNetflixで配信が始まった『機動戦士ガンダム 復讐のレクイエム』の第一話を見ました。ガンダムシリーズ第1作目の一年戦争中のヨーロッパ戦線を舞台にしたドラマ。ジオン公国側から視点で描かれているので、ガンダムは「白い悪魔」として登場する。
ゲームエンジン「Unreal Engine 5」を使用した3CGですが、こんな実写さながらのガンダムを見れる日が来るなんて！ 生きてて良かった。
