Analog Amp Simulator - SIMPLIFIER MK-II
I had no major complaints about the Strymon Iridium I had been using for a long time, but I was drawn to the word “analog” and ended up purchasing the DSM & Humboldt Simplifier MK-II.
I found an Orange Squeezer behind my amp. It brings back memories - it’s a compressor I bought when I was a student, almost 40 years ago. It’s nostalgic, and surprisingly it still works properly. 🎸
Oh no, this is bad.
I’m using the Strymon Iridium but something about it feels too digital, and I’m drawn to the Simplifier MkII. I know, I know - the Iridium has an analog preamp and it’s properly ‘amp-like.’ But I’m just weak when it comes to anything labeled ‘analog.’

Today marks the 33rd anniversary of the passing of Freddie Mercury. In Japanese Buddhist tradition, it’s believed that after 33 years, a departed soul can reach the Pure Land—a state of ultimate peace and enlightenment. I’ve performed this song🎸 in his honor.
The inexpensive semi-custom 🎸 I bought in August. Since there’s no undercoat treatment, the topcoat paint is all bumpy (lol). I like the sound, but maybe because I changed the body wood to ash, the weight exceeds 4 kg.
Since I bought a Fender, I’m thinking of selling it.
I always wanted an original Fender🎸 at least once in my life. And by pure chance, I stumbled upon a 70th Anniversary American Vintage II 1954 Stratocaster and it’s only 3.5Kg - an absolute gem! I sped off in my car and bought it on the spot! Now, I’ll let it sit for a while to cool off.
先日実家で昔購入し実家を出るときに放置していたGrecoのセミアコ🎸を発掘。
ラベルを確認して「SV-600」というモデルだと判明。1979年から1年半程度しか生産されなかったレアモデル。 このモデルはフジゲンが製作を担当しており、Gibson ES-335っぽいが小振りで独自の解釈で設計されています。
シリアル番号から、おそらく1979年6月生産の初期の個体。初期モデルのSV-600はPUはU-2000のはずですが、なぜか上位モデルのSV-800と同じPU-2が2発搭載されていました。
40年近い眠りから目覚めさせるべく、現在以下のリストア作業中。

This song is a cover of “Bansanka” (Dinner Song) by tuki., a Japanese singer-songwriter who is currently an active middle school girl. It’s been one of my favorite songs recently, so I decided to try playing it.
🎸 It’s a Queen masterpiece that I recorded at home about 10 years ago. I have memories of it being so difficult, with probably more than 6 vocal parts, that I don’t have the motivation to do it again.
「おい、ハンサム!!」をNetflixで見返していて、そういえばThe Ronettesってこの曲しか知らんなと演奏してみた🎸。ヴォーカルはVocaloidだけど、先のアップデートでLogicProに追加されたChromaGlowが昔の録音のサチュレーションをうまく再現している気がする。
🎥 『劇場版総集編 ぼっち・ざ・ろっくRe:Re:』を見てきました。まだ夏休みですが、平日昼間のためかアニメのリュックを背負ったガチ勢の兄ちゃんしかいなくて怖かった。
冒頭の初ライブシーンが良かったので、ギターでコピーしてみました。
Even though the specifications have changed since then, I thought I should play this song when I hold an Texan🎸, so I tried playing it 当時と仕様は変わっているけれど、やっぱり Epiphone Texanを持ったらこの曲をやるべきかなと演奏してみました。
